Passage Istanbul Culture Camp 2027
Hosted by Passage

Ten days in Istanbul over the April school holidays for 15 students aged 15 to 18: history on foot, a daily Turkish class and a short documentary made in teams.
Istanbul has been a capital for sixteen centuries, and most of that history is still standing within walking distance of the Golden Horn. Over ten days in April 2027, fifteen students explore it on foot with a historian: Hagia Sophia, the Topkapı Palace, the Grand Bazaar, the Galata Tower and the ferry across the Bosphorus to the Asian side.
Every morning starts with an hour of Turkish, enough to order food, ask for directions and read a menu by the end of the camp.
Students also make a film. In teams of three, with a phone and a short editing workshop on the second day, each team makes a five-minute documentary about one street, one market or one ferry route, built around interviews with people who work there. The films are screened on the last evening and published on Passage.
Students stay in a guesthouse in Beyoğlu with two Passage staff. Flights, the visa or e-visa where one is needed, accommodation, meals, transport, tickets and insurance are all covered.
Applications close on 30 November 2026. Places are confirmed by 20 December 2026, so families have time to arrange passports and school leave.
