Winter Culture Camp in Kyoto
Hosted by Kansai Youth Exchange Centre
Three weeks of Japanese language, calligraphy, tea ceremony and temple stays for secondary-school students, with a host-family weekend.
Winter Culture Camp in Kyoto brings a small group of students to Kyoto for an intensive, carefully supervised programme. Days combine structured teaching with time to explore the city, and every participant is paired with a local mentor for the duration of the stay.
The grant removes the cost barrier entirely for selected students: travel, accommodation and programme fees are paid directly by the host, so nobody needs to advance money or wait for reimbursement.
Selection is based on the written statement and on what the student plans to do with the experience afterwards. Prior travel or language study is not required. Students from schools that rarely send anyone abroad are especially encouraged to apply.
